Choosing A Weapon
THE THREE RULES
Despite opinions on Reddit, the current "meta", even what the real data might imply, make sure you're always incorporating the below into your decision making:

Application
Don't bring a knife to a gun fight, right? But bringing a rocket launcher to a gun fight... maybe that's a good move. Either way, this should be the first consideration. Where is the fight taking place? What sort of engagement range? Will your enemies have heavy armor? Will they have the chance to heal? Will there likely be multiple threats in a single room that you will need to engage quickly? Will you be engaging enemy personnel and vehicles?

Compentency
You've chosen well, but have you practiced? Your lethality with the weapon is just as important. Plenty of citizens carrying a "meta" weapon lose to someone who practiced just a bit more.
So what makes you lethal with your weapon? Drawing, reloading, and perhaps most important: shot placement.
You'll notice that round size or damage, though important, are not on this list. Remember, the "bigger the bullet" just means the bigger the hole in the wall if you miss. If you cannot put shots on target, the caliber will not matter.

Team
Complementing your team's weaponry may be a key consideration. Do you not need to carry a sniper rifle because someone else competent will?
Note too, that if things escalate into a prolonged firefight, ammo compatibility may be important. If you run out of rounds in your Coda pistol and realize everyone else brought S-38 ammo, you're back to fisticuffs.
If you're going full John Wick, how can you be self-sufficient? How will you keep your hair disheveled and yet somehow in place as the gunfight progresses?
